"Bruno Ciari" Primary School,
Cocomaro di Cona (Ferrara, Italy) - Our "counting-out rhymes
" research project
Our research: local level
We
started our research by listening to and collecting all the counting-out rhymes
known to the pupils attending our school with the aim of
publishing them in our school newspaper, the “Gazette di Cocomaro.”
In view of the growing interest and
curiosity our project aroused, we also began to involve parents,
grandparents and friends. We then
invited readers of the magazine to help us enrich the collection.
During the 1994-95 school year, we decided to ask for contributions from the
schools participating in the
Kidslink project (Bologna, Italy). Our
first e-mails asking for material were sent to the Primary and Middle schools.
Some schools helped by sending
material that we then included in a Newspaper Conference.
At the end of this initial stage, our
archives contained approximately two hundred
counting-out rhymes.
